It has been raining and overcast here this week so I thought a bunch of flowers would brighten up our kitchen this afternoon.

Just a simple bunch of flowers in an old galvanized sap bucket. Instead of using the bucket as a centerpiece on the table I placed it on a paint splattered step stool for a casual farmhouse look.
Except for a few bowls of coloured eggs I haven't brought out the Easter decor yet.

I'm currently working on painting a coffee table for our living room. Taking time away from painting to take photos of the flowers is a lovely distraction though.
I am enjoying being off this work this week for March Break. It is only Tuesday and already I got two different visits to the hospital for scheduled tests over with (no worries!), a trip to our youngest son's favourite hockey store, dinner out with some girlfriends, hanging with my sister, lots of little projects and plenty of relaxing. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the week too. But right now I'm going to make some banana bread and a pot of hot tea and enjoy these pretty flowers. And ignore the rain that has now turned to light snow as I wrote this post.
You can find me partying here...

Lovely bucket full of colour ... and I spy some of my favourite daisies in there. Sounds like you are enjoying the March Break week.
Flowers can sure be a pick me up! I hope to find some daisies when I go out and about tomorrow. Sounds like you are having a good time on your break.
Farmhouse hugs,
Cindy
How beautiful!! Nothing like a fresh bouquet to brighten your day!
I never think of using a sap can for a bouquet. Perfect for this time of year when the sap is running too. Lovely!
Lovely flowers. Enjoy your week with family and friends.
Enjoy the rest of your week off; flowers give good feelings
Hi Elizabeth,
Lovely flowers, I like how you have the sap bucket on the stool... Enjoy your break, sounds like lots of fun!
All the Best,
Christine
There's nothing like a sweet bouquet to bring the spring indoors when she's not yet peepin' her buds outside. I am still waiting to see my first robin. I've HEARD them, but they remain unseen.

Beautiful flowers for a dreary day!

Nothing like a little snow in the Spring....keep the flowers coming, maybe it will help encourage the weather to warm up a bit.

It sounds like you've gotten a lot done so far during your week off. I know how good that feels to make progress. Your flowers are very pretty. With the rain/snow falling, they are sure to brighten your day.
Beautiful splash of such vibrant Spring colors, Elizabeth, and I love that you placed it on the stool vs. the table! Have fun painting!
I love the bright flowers, they add such cheer to your lovely dining room.
Rain and snow, that sounds like us yesterday. Ah, spring, how you do mess with our lives.
Have a wonderful week off!
